10 week update!

I think it's safe to say that I finally have my appetite back. I just chowed down on HALF A BAG of ruffles sour cream & onion chips....can you say delicious??? It's definitely a welcome change to the "nothing looks good" option. I still get queasy when my tummy gets empty but watching food on TV doesn't make me want to toss my cookies anymore!

I am going to start doing a weekly baby update because let's face it, everybody wants to know this stuff! haha

How far along?: 10 weeks
How big is baby?: the size of an olive!
Weight gain?: nothing really so far but I can tell my middle is getting "thicker" no bump, just pudge!
Stretch marks?: no and I'm praying that my nightly rub down with Tummy Butter pays off
Maternity clothes?: Still too soon but my pants are definitely snug
Sleep?: I was sleeping like crazy up until last night when I suddenly became a night owl!
Best moment this week?: Talking to Hubby about baby, we are SO EXCITED!
Food cravings?: Chips, Ice Cream, pizza
Gender?: We won't know that for a while but Mommy has a feeling we will be buying PINK!
Movement?: None yet but I defintely can't wait for the first flutter I've heard so much about!
What I miss?: Cokes! I drink caffine free but anytime we go out to eat I have sweet tea or water.
Labor signs?: Not hardly :)
What I'm looking forward to?:  Oh goodness, first baby flutters, finding out the gender and holding my sweet baby!

Baby Thomas

From the fullness of grace we have received one blessing after another - John 1:16

Words cannot even express the extreme joy and full-out giddyness I feel in my heart every day since finding out that I'm going to be a mother! The fact that I am growing a wonderful and beautiful life amazes me most days and totally confuses me others. I still haven't fully grasped the concept and most days even question if I really am pregnant until another wave of nausea hits.
To say this sweet baby is a suprise is an understatement. Although Hubby and I had discussed having kids since this was something we both desperately wanted and didn't want to wait until we, our parents and our grandparents were older, we weren't planning on full out "trying" until well into the year. I started praying to God all day every day and every night that we would be able to have healthy happy babies because I honestly thought it would take us a long time. I'm not sure why I thought this, we are both healthy with no real threats, I just had a feeling so I prayed, a lot!
I was still playing with the idea of being a mother and us having a child as a newly married couple, when I woke up on the morning of my college graduation and had a feeling. That nagging feeling that maybe, just maybe something was different. I took a test and got results immediately. I paused for a second and started crying, I mean full on sobbing and thanking God for this most wonderful and beautiful blessing on our lives. Then my brain started reeling with thoughts "we JUST got married!" then "what in the world is Hubby going to say" and then the final and most guilty feeling overcame me "my poor Momma and Daddy will be three and a half hours away from their first grandbaby" and I cried even more.
I sat in my bed and thought and prayed and continued to cry for hours that morning feeling hundreds of feelings but most of all pure joy and thankfulness. I finally got dressed and ready to go because I still had graduation to go to! Hubby got home a few hours later and he was in a rush because for the first time in his life he was running late and we had to drive an hour to get to Natchitoches. Of course he thought it was odd that I was totally dressed and ready to go because honestly, that NEVER happens.
He was running around the house like a crazy person when I finally told him that he had an early Christmas present to open and he looked at me like I was crazy and said "do you realize how late we are?" I laughed and said just open the present. He did and found the positive test and was in a state of pure shock but super excited and kept asking me Really?

A few weeks later we went to the doctor and got to see our little Sweetie and hear the heartbeat. As soon as the ultrasound lady left the room, I looked at Hubby and my eyes filled with tears. Everything was totally and completely real at that very moment.
