Sweet Baby Thomas!

Today was definitely the second most exciting day of my life (the first being my perfect wedding day) and I could not be more thrilled to announce that:

Our ultrasound appointment was at 10:00 am and we got there just a few minutes early, immediately we were called to the back and the ultrasound process began. I laid back on the table while Hubby stood at my side and our technician smeared jelly all over my belly. She began to move the wand around and within seconds she said "It's a Girl!" I started crying tears of joy that would not stop and finally looked over at the sweet baby girl's daddy who was beaming. He squeezed my hand and we smiled at each other. The technician showed us sweet baby girl's legs (long just like Momma and Daddy's) her sweet foot and a VERY precious profile picture where if you look closely, you can see her tiny little hand.

Sweet Girl's little face!

Her tiny foot!

All curled up in Momma's Belly!
I composed myself enough to make it out of the doctor's office and the tears began to flow. The buildup of the reveal and the excitement of finding out that I will be a Momma to the sweetest and prettiest (my opinion of course) little girl totally overwhelmed me and by the time we made it to the truck Kendall hugged me and asked if I was OK. I told him that I was just really really excited and told him that even though she wasn't a boy they would still go hunting together and he could teach her how to play basketball! I continued to cry and remembered that I still had to order flowers to send to our Moms revealing who Baby Thomas is!
Yesterday I made plans with Shannon and Ashley who work with our Moms to take pictures when they got the flowers! I sent each of them a beautiful spring bouquet with a card that read "Tiaras, Tea Parties & Tutus!" It was a sweet way for them to find out at the same time since we could be at both places at once.

Finding out who our sweet baby is has made everything real for us. I am truly grateful for this wonderful gift and I'm absolutely certain that I was put on this earth to be a Momma!!!

Who are you??

This morning at 10:00, I will find out who my little person is! The past few days have been overwhelming emotionally, this feeling is almost indescribable. I have never in my life been so excited and so scared at the same time. Ever since I found out that I get to be a Momma to this sweet baby, I've been dreaming of who this little one will be.
If we have a girl, will she be just as sassy as her Momma? Will she and I have the incredible relationship that my Momma and I have? Will she want to be Mommy's best friend and my little shopping partner? Will she want to be a cheerleader, a ballerina, or a pink princess? OR will we have a little boy that is mischievous and funny like his daddy? Will he and his daddy be inseparable? Will he be his little hunting buddy that wants to walk step in step behind his daddy? Will he love baseball, basketball, football or every sport?
I'm not yet sure who this sweet little baby is yet but I do know that Boy or Girl, no matter either way, this baby has already given me so much happiness. I cannot even begin to imagine how much our lives will change again when we see that sweet little face for the first time.

16 week update!

16 weeks pregnant

How far along?: 16 weeks Average size: 4.6 inches, 3.5 oz

Tiny bones are forming in baby's ears, he/she can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming

How big is baby?: the size of an Avacado!

Weight gain?: At my appointment yesterday I haven't gained any weight but my sweet Dr. said that it's perfectly normal and better to not be gaining too much so early!

Stretch marks?: My belly has officially popped and I find myself scratching my itchy belly all the time (which means I need to be moisturizing) but NO STRETCH MARKS!!!

Maternity clothes?: I can still wear some of my regular jeans but only if I use the rubber band around the button trick. I am MUCH more comfortable in maternity bottoms but wear mostly regular tops! I urge any expecting mommy to check out http://www.cravingstyle.com/ for gently used maternity closed. I got two pair of capris and two pair of shorts for $40.00 with shipping included! I was so excited to find this deal because the thought of spending a ton of money on clothes that I will only wear for a little while doesn't appeal to me.
Sleep?: I am always exhausted. This whole burst of energy with the second trimester thing....totally not believing it. As soon as I hit the bed, I am out!

Best moment this week?: My belly is definitely there! I am excited to finally look pregnant and not just fat. The absolute best moment was hearing a very strong healthy heartbeat at the doctor!!!

Food cravings?: Blue Raspberry Icees and BBQ Sandwiches

Gender?: March 29 is the big day! Hubby and I talk every night about how excited we are to find out!

Movement?: If I'm feeling it I don't know it yet. There are times when I think that I feel something but just chalk it up to wishful thinking.

What I miss?: Definitely TMI but I miss my old boobs. I can't get used to the new blow-up version and I know there's more to come!

Labor signs?: Not at all!

What I'm looking forward to?: Finding out if I will be a Baseball Momma or a Ballet Momma!!!

Top 5 things I love about being pregnant......

Although I still don't have my definite Baby Belly and probably will continue to look like I just overate for the next few weeks and I haven't felt those sweet little movements there are still a lot of perks to being preggers. These are my favorite things so far.....
  • It amazes me how just a few short weeks ago all food smelled and tasted disgusting and NOW, oh my goodness! Everything tastes and smells so delicious, especially the cupcake place on the boardwalk (Reese's cupcake=HEAVEN!). I get so excited over good food that it's ridiculous!
  • Not having to do the dishes or clean out the fridge. I hope that Hubby never reads this because then my secret will be out BUT it is pretty awesome that I can use my "Ugh, everything smells so gross and I think I am going to gag" excuse. Although this is very true, dishes have never ever been my favorite chore. I am blessed to have such a wonderful Husband who will put up with my crap and wash the dishes.
  • 3 words-- Instant Boob Job- without the price tag and minus surgery. I knew that by the end of pregnancy there was a chance that I could rival Pamela Anderson but never in a million years did I think that I would already be buying "bulk size" bras. If only the 12 year old flat chested girl that once prayed (nope, totally not kidding) for boobs could see herself now! Here's to 5 more months of Miracle Grow.
  • I am FINALLY getting the thicker prettier hair that every single pregnancy book and article has promised. For my entire life I have had thin hair and it sheds like a border collie, mainly due to stress and a poor diet but this girl's got some rockin hair these days!
  • I think that my very favorite thing about being pregnant is thinking about feeling the baby move for the first time, finding out if we'll have our sweet princess or our all-boy little boy, planning the nursery, the day that my sweet baby is born and all the love that will surround that moment, and thinking about the person that our baby will grow up to be!

I have to tell you, there are also several things that NO ONE ever told me about pregnancy. I really and truly think that if a group of teenage girls had to sit in a room with a large and in charge pregnant woman and hear her talk about the honest and gross changes that happen to your body, the teen pregnancy rate would go down, but that's just me. At 25 I'm totally grossed out and terrified about the complete take-over that has occurred and the things that I read about to come. I won't go into the details because NOBODY wants to read about that!
