Weekly update-- 1 week old

•Weight: 8 lbs 3oz- You are one ounce shy of your birth weight! It normally takes babies two weeks to get back up to their birth weight but you almost did it in a week! Dr. said you are a picture of health!

•Height: 20 1/2 inches

•Nicknames: Baby Girl (Daddy) BooBoo (Momma) HK(Everybody)

•Wearing mostly newborn clothes because you will grow out of them so quickly and some 0-3 month
•You are happiest in the mornings after you are fed, you love to open your eyes big and look around, you smile in your sleep and make the funniest little faces

•You absolutely hate having your diaper changed and scream at the top of your lungs

◦You love being held and cuddled and most of the time have to sleep on someone's chest, we are all taking turns but you have slept in your bassinet and swing a few times

•You are taking 3oz of formula every 3 hours, on the dot. You do not miss a meal!

•Anytime you are upset we can normally calm you down by talking to you and holding your hand

•Your left eye has a clogged tear duct so we are massaging it and putting ointment in it three times a day

•You pick your head up and look around, everybody is always so shocked that you can do that, you are so strong and already in such a hurry to grow up and be a big girl!

•You have the most lady-like baby burps of any baby I've ever seen

•You love having your hands up by your face and putting them in your mouth, we have seen you sucking your thumb twice (Yikes!) and you really don't have a huge interest in your paci

•You like to rub your feet together and don't like wearing socks, you always kick the right one off! You have to have your feet hanging out of your blanket so we have to modify our swaddling

Sweet girl, we are enjoying every single minute of you. I still can't believe that you lived in my body for 9 months. I am so thankful that God chose us to be your parents because you are the sweetest baby and have already made our lives so much richer. I am so excited to watch you grow up and see the little lady that you become but I want it all to happen very slowly. You are a little over a week old and time has flown by. I looked at some of the pictures that we took at the hospital and just started bawling because you have already grown and changed so much. I love watching you sleep because I can tell you are dreaming some big dreams, your little face lights up and you smile, it's the sweetest moment for me. I hope that you make those dreams happen for you someday, whatever they are.

Baby Momma's Pregnancy Essentials!

Pregnancy Essentials:

Snoogle Total-Body Pillow
Before getting my Snoogle total-body pillow, I would toss and turn all night trying to find a comfortable position! After many many nights of not sleeping and being very grumpy, my sweet thoughtful husband suprised me with this pillow and I cried because I was so excited. This pillow totally saved my sanity!

Heating Pad
A heating pad was a my best friend the last few weeks of pregnangy when my back would ache.

Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops

I seriously could not have lived without these flip flops through the last semester! The actual flop part is a real Yoga Mat! None of my other shoes fit and these feel like heaven on my poor swollen feet!

Bath and Body Works Lavender Body Lotion and Pillow Mist

These were really amazing during those restless nights. I have used the pillow mist since before getting pregnant and started using the lotion through the entire last trimester and I really think it helped me relax before bed. So Dreamy!!!

VitaFusion Gummy Prenatal Vitamins

When I was really queasy during my first trimester I started taking these vitamins and they were actually kinda tasty! Not something I would want to eat a whole ton of but not bad at all!

These are just some of my most favorite and helpful things that I can think of. What were your pregnancy life savers????

40 weeks-- Light at the end of the tunnel

At our doctor's visit Friday the doctor gave us the option to induce on Monday!!! YAY! I am so beyond ready to be done with pregnancy and finally hold my sweet baby girl! We check in Sunday night at 10pm to get the process started! Prayers for our family, Hadley's health & safety and the nurses & doctors are greatly appreciated!!

How far along?:  40 weeks

Weight gain?: I have gained 35 pounds total

Stretch marks?: Unfortunately I have developed a few :(

Maternity clothes?: I'm staying in stretchy pants and t-shirts
Sleep?: I have had a lot of trouble sleeping most nights

39 Weeks---Are we there yet?

How far along?: 39weeks down- 1week left!!!!!!
How big is baby?: Dr. D is predicting she will be between 7- 7 1/2 lbs!!!

Coming down to the wire, your baby weighs around seven to eight pounds and measures 19 to 21 inches. Those measurements won't change much from now on, but her brain is still growing at an astonishing rate, a pace that will continue for the first three years of life. Her pink skin has now turned whitish (even babies who'll eventually have darker skin appear whitish now — they haven't yet developed pigment). Her head may have dropped into your pelvis by now, which makes your breathing easier but walking harder.

Weight gain?: I have gained 29 pounds total
Stretch marks?: Unfortunately I have developed a few :(
Maternity clothes?: On the days that I actually make it out of my pajamas I squeeze into a dress or stretchy pants and one of Hubby's t-shirts!
Sleep?: I have good and bad nights but have found myself so exhausted lately that I have no problem falling asleep but wake up around 3-4. I've been spending most of my mornings on the couch so Hubby can sleep until his alarm goes off in the morning.
Best moment this week?: Everyone very impatiently waiting on the "Hadley Call" and calling every few hours to check and see how things are going. We also have every single thing that we can ready for Hadley Kate to arrive!
Food cravings?: Notta but I'm eating a lot
Gender?: Baby GIRL!!!! Hadley Kate Thomas
Movement?: I'm feeling less and less kicks and more big movements and wiggles from sweet girl
Labor signs?: Still at 2cm (I was hugely disappointed) and 70% thinned. Definitely thought that yesterday was the day, I had contractions that were 6-7 minutes apart and pretty uncomfortable but laid down for a nap and they disappeared :( No contractions today so we will see!

What I'm looking forward to?: I am just so ready for her to get here instead of daydreaming about her all day every day!

Packing the Hospital Bag

Today I'm linking up with A Blue-Eyed Boy Met a Brown-Eyed Girl and sharing what I have packed in my hospital bag.

This is something that I have been researching pretty much since day one. I wanted to make sure that I had all of the essentials and nothing was left out. I packed my bag at 36 weeks because my worst case scenario was having my mom or mother in law having to pick out my pajamas, underwear and all of the other things I needed!

For Me I packed:
  • Nightgowns- I packed 3 because I'm not sure what I will feel like wearing- one was a really great nursing top nightgown that I'm sure I will love!
  • Nursing Bras- I packed two in different sizes because I've never done this before and I'm not sure how out of control the girls will get :)
  • Disposable Nursing Pads- I bought the Johnson's Brand

  • Pillows for Hubby and me- on our hospital tour the Nurse told us that theirs are really flat and covered in plastic and good pillows are top on the priority list for both of us for a good night's sleep
  • Camera with completely empty memory card and extra batteries
  • Socks
  • Robe- to wear when company comes
  • Baby Book- to have her hand and footprints put in and for any last minute thoughts I want to put in there!
  • Boppy Pillow

  • Toiletries- Travel Size Shampoo and Conditioner, Body Wash, Mouthwash, Toothbrushes and Toothpaste, Deodorant, Lotion, Facial Cleansing Wipes and Contact Stuff for Hubs
  • Hair Dryer
  • Dry Shampoo
  • My All Time Fave!

  • Hairbrush
  • Make-up- because I definitely don't want pictures of me without any!!!
  • Chapstick
  • Ponytail holders for labor and probably after
  • Comfortable Maternity Dress and flip flops to wear home
  • Towels for both of us because I've heard the Hospitals weren't great
For Hadley I packed:
  • Going home outfit that me and my two sisters wore home form the hospital
  • Three outfits to wear in the hospital
  • Monogramed Diaper Cover- because really every little girl should always have diaper covers!
  • Pacifiers (I think I packed two different kinds because I wasn't sure which she will like)
  • Monogramed Bib to wear with her going home outfit
  • Pretty Pink flower bow to wear with her going home outfit (IF she has hair- praying she does!!)
  • Two recieving blankets
  • Blanket that her Daddy was brought home from the hospital in
  • Diamond cross necklace from her Great Grandma- not sure if she will wear it but we will definitely have pictures made with it
  • Ruffle socks
  • No-scratch mittens
  • Burp Cloths
  • Crochet Shoes to wear with Going Home Outfit
If you have any suggestions for this first time Momma, please let me know because I'm sure I am forgetting something really obvious!

It's our Anniversary!!!!!

A year ago today I was surrounded by 6 of the most beautiful girls that meant the world to me along with my parents who had given me all of the love in their hearts. I spent most of the day crying because I was so overcome with emotion and couldn't believe that not only had this amazing man picked me but we were about to vow to spend the rest of our lives together. My wedding day had finally arrived and all I wanted was to see that handsome fella standing at the end of the aisle waiting for me.
Our wedding was everything that I dreamed it would ever be and much more. My sweet Momma had so many little surprises planned out for me and she made the day so special. I tried to soak in every single moment because I knew I would never get this day again.

 Everything was perfect.

If you had stood before me on my wedding day and told me that how much my life would change in one short year, that on my first anniversary I would be 9 months pregnant with a daughter and preparing for her arrival, I would have laughed at you.
Although we have dealt will challenges over the past year, it's been the best year of my life and I am so thankful that God chose this man to be the one by my side everyday. Our ability to rally together and get through the tough stuff and compromise even when we both want our way has been God's blessing to our marriage. I've heard that the first year of marriage is the hardest but I have a feeling that won't be true for us, the first year has been a breeze, it's the second that is going to send us for a loop :) but I'm excited to see how we handle it. I've been blessed with the kindest and most selfless man I've ever met and he just so happens to make me laugh every day, I think I did pretty good!!

If you are reading this blog post I ask one simple thing, please say a prayer that we can continue to love and like each other every day and have many more wonderful years together.
